Fun & friendship

Challengers Youth schemes are places where disabled young people aged 13 to 18 can come to have fun, spend time with their friends, and take part in exciting trips and activities.

Our Youth schemes run at weekends and weekday evenings during term-time, and during the week in the school holidays.

Caring for individual needs

Our staff are highly trained to cater to every young person’s needs and we work closely with parents to determine whether their young person requires 2:1, 1:1 or non 1:1 support, so when they come to Challengers you can feel reassured that they are safe, supported and happy.

Our non-exclusion policy means that we’ll always find a way to make sure that every young person can come along and enjoy themselves at Challengers – even if that means our team investing in new training or equipment.

Facilities and Activities

Each Youth scheme is set up with different areas, including open spaces for free play, a kitchen area for making tasty creations, an outdoor space for fun and games, and quiet areas where young people can chill out together.

Our Youth workers put on different activities every day, including music workshops, baking and sports, as well as day trips to exciting places like bowling, the beach, the zoo or even a theme park. We listen carefully to what young people would like to do and adapt our activities to suit them.
