Why you should support Challengers this Giving Tuesday

Our Head of Fundraising, Samantha Lane, shares her thoughts on Giving Tuesday and the extra special reason why you should donate to Challengers in support of this global movement.

November is finally here and as all good fundraisers know, that can only mean one thing…Giving Tuesday!

If you’ve not heard of Giving Tuesday before, it’s a campaign organised by the Chartered Institute of Fundraising which falls on the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday – the days following Thanksgiving which have become popular for sales and deals in the US, and have made their way across the pond in recent years.

In contrast to these days of mass-consumerism, the idea behind Giving Tuesday is to promote a “worldwide generosity movement” and encourages people to put their hand in their pocket for good.

In 2023, Giving Tuesday will take place on Tuesday 28th November and focuses on spotlighting the different ways people can get involved in charities. Of course, we would love you to support Challengers with a donation this Giving Tuesday out of the goodness of your heart, but there’s an even better reason to get involved…thanks to the Big Give Christmas Challenge.

For just one week starting from midday on 28th November (Giving Tuesday), ALL donations given to Challengers via the Big Give Christmas Challenge will be DOUBLED! For example a £50 donation will become £100, providing Challengers with twice the amount to support disabled children and young people.

Donating to Challengers via the Big Give is a wonderful opportunity to double the impact your donation can have, with no cost to yourself – how amazing!

So, if you’re considering making a donation to Challengers this festive season, it would be fantastic if you could donate during the Big Give week so your donation can be doubled and make even more of a difference to the families we support. But remember, you have to donate to us via the Big Give Christmas Challenge page (not via our website donation page).

If you think you might forget, why not add a calendar reminder to your diary?

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. You can email us at fundraising@disability-challengers.org, or call us on 01483 230 060.

Thank you for your support and I hope you have a wonderful Giving Tuesday!
