Kelly’s Santa Fun Run 2023: Spreading Joy and Generosity in the Winter Chill!

Written by Lucy Hill

On the (very) chilly Saturday of December 2nd, 2023, Stoke Park came alive with the return of Kelly’s Santa Fun Run, a heartwarming event that brought festive cheer and goodwill to all. Organized by Kelly’s Storage Charity Events, this day was not only filled with holiday spirit but also with a generous purpose—supporting Challengers in their mission to make a difference in the lives of local disabled children.

Despite the freezing temperatures, over 200 Santa and Elf runners donned their festive attire to participate in either the 2.5k or 5k run.

The fun didn’t end with the run—friends and family gathered to cheer on the runners and enjoyed a post-run winter wonderland. From festive food and drinks to gifts and even a chance to meet Santa in his grotto, there was something for everyone. Challengers had a stall filled with delightful activities, including a teddy tombola, raffle, and alcohol tombola. Attendees generously supported Challengers by purchasing Christmas cards and merchandise, adding to the festive joy.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Kelly’s Storage Charity Events for covering all the costs of the day, ensuring that every penny raised went directly to Challengers.

A large amount of proceeds from the event were doubled by The Big Give which meant most entries and donations made on the Kelly’s Storage Charity Events website before the event or on the day were matched, resulting in a total contribution of an incredible £9,854.16. The doubled funds ensure that Challengers can continue their vital work, providing opportunities for disabled children to have fun, make friends, and try new activities.

From everyone at Challengers, a resounding thank you goes out to all who attended—whether as runners, supporters, or contributors

We can’t thank Kelly’s enough for their continued generosity and commitment to making a positive impact in the community and for being long-time supporters of Challengers.
