Guildford Jazz and Challengers are delighted to announce that the Wood Street Jazz Festival is back for our 10th year anniversary in 2024! On Sunday 21st July we will be welcoming you to an unforgettable afternoon of soul-stirring jazz performances on the Wood Street Village Green, all in support of Challengers!
Come along and enjoy an amazing afternoon of live music, from 13:00pm to 5pm (Gates open from 12:15pm).
Music will feature one of the UK’s finest and in-demand swing bands, Jivin’ Miss Daisy; the award-winning Nigel Price Organ Trio and of course the ever-popular Somethin’ Else Big Band will be back to open the afternoon, plus support acts featuring up and coming local talented jazz musicians.
Thanks to the generosity of the Shahin Restaurant, you can pre-order food again this year with a choice of chicken tikka masala or vegetable tikka masala both with sag bhaji, onion bhaji, pilau rice, naan bread & pickles.
We are really looking forward to working with Guildford Jazz and members of Wood Street Village for the Wood Street Jazz Festival’s 10th year anniversary! We would like to thank them for their continuous support in helping organise and run the event. Collectively, they have fundraised over £67,000 for Challengers!
Every penny raised from the day goes directly to Challengers, helping us continue to break down the barriers to play for local disabled children and their families. Thank you very much for your continued support, we look forward to you joining us for an afternoon of Jazz on the green.
