Challengers celebrates a decade of exciting events

We are very excited that share that we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of two significant events this year.

Since our inception in 1979, Challengers has been committed to ending social isolation for disabled children by providing inclusive opportunities for them to have fun and make friends, whilst giving their families essential respite from the demands of caring.

As a charity, we need to raise £1.2 million a year in voluntary income to sustain our services, and integral to raising these funds are our fundraising events.

The two 10th anniversary events taking place this summer are:

Motoring Event 2023
Challengers Motoring Event – Sunday 14th July, various locations in Surrey

Revving up for its 10th year, the Challengers Motoring Event is a staple event for car lovers. From classic cars to supercars, this event celebrates the joy of motoring while raising awareness and funds for Challengers’ invaluable services. This year the event will start at Brooklands Museum, the birthplace of British Motorsport, before participants navigate an exciting driving route through the picturesque Surrey countryside, ending at a private motor museum which hosts one of the UK’s most extensive collections of specialist cars and motoring memorabilia

Wood Street Jazz Festival 2023
Wood Street Jazz Festival – Sunday 21st July, Guildford

Grooving into its milestone year, the Wood Street Jazz Festival promises to be an unforgettable afternoon of soul-stirring jazz performances. Nestled in the heart of Wood Street Village, this relaxed and family-friendly festival is held in partnership with Guildford Jazz who have organised a riveting musical programme. This includes one of the UK’s finest and in-demand swing bands Jivin’ Miss Daisy; the award-winning Nigel Price Organ Trio and the ever-popular Somethin’ Else Big Band.
