On Saturday 22nd June 2024, we were privileged to experience an evening of Jazz at Park Church with the Farnham Big Band!
Farnham’s Big Band (FABB) have been playing across Surrey and Hampshire since 2001. FABB is a full 17-piece Jazz Orchestra, playing great swing, Latin and soulful tunes from the bands of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ray Charles, Jools Holland and more. The big band are joined once again by wonderful vocalist, Anna Merry, who performs songs made famous by Amy Winehouse, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Ruby Turner and others.
We were absolutely delighted to be the chosen charity of Farnham’s Big Band’s fundraising concert and our Challengers employees who attended had a fabulous toe-tapping evening!
The event raised a fantastic £737.75 with every penny raised going directly to Challengers, helping us continue to break down the barriers to play for local disabled children and their families. We also touched the audience’s hearts with our Free To Be Me video during the intermission, which raised a huge amount of awareness about Challengers and caused some tears too!
We had some wonderful feedback about the event, and had a blast working with Farnham Big Band. A huge thank you to Farnham Big Band (Rhys and Brian), and Park Church!
