Our Fundraising Marketing Manager Laura shares her thoughts on Giving Tuesday – the global giving movement – and why supporting Challengers via the Big Give Christmas Challenge is so important this year.
It’s that time of year again – Giving Tuesday is here! And at Challengers, we’re gearing up for something special.
If you’re not familiar with Giving Tuesday, it’s the global generosity movement that follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday – a day to give back and support the causes you care about. For us at Challengers, it’s the perfect moment to rally support for our Big Give Christmas Challenge, and this year is extra special.
Why? Because we’ve set a target of £45,000! And thanks to the Big Give Christmas Challenge, every donation we receive during the campaign will be doubled – giving us the chance to raise an incredible £90,000 for disabled children and their families.
This funding will be transformational for families who rely on Challengers. It could provide 300 days of respite care – giving parents and carers a much-needed break while their children are safe, supported, and having fun.
How you can help?
The Big Give Christmas Challenge runs for just one week: from midday on 3rd December to midday on 10th December. During this time, every pound you donate through our Big Give page will be matched pound for pound. That means your £50 becomes £100, or your £100 becomes £200 – doubling the difference you make, at no extra cost to you.
To make your donation go twice as far, simply:
- Visit our Big Give page
- Donate between midday on 3rd December and midday on 10th December.
- Tell your friends and family, and help us spread the word.
Why your support matters
Families like Toby’s depend on Challengers. Toby, now 10, has been attending Challengers since he was just three years old. His mum, Natasha, says:
“I think Toby would be so much more severe in his mental health and his state of mind now if we didn’t find Challengers. It’s crucial for families to survive.”
Let’s reach our biggest target yet
This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking you to be part of something special. With your help, we can reach our target and provide life-changing care and support to even more families.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. You can email us at fundraising@disability-challengers.org, or call us on 01483 230 060.
Thank you for your support and I hope you have a wonderful Giving Tuesday!
