89% of Challengers parents tell us our services help reduce their child’s isolation and loneliness (Challengers Parent Carer Survey 2024).
For many disabled children and young people, summer can be a time of isolation and missed opportunities. 70% of disabled young people are chronically lonely, and 86% of disabled children in the UK are socially isolated (Disabled Children’s Partnership 2022). But at Challengers, we believe every child deserves the chance to play, explore, and create joyful memories with friends.
Last summer, children at Challengers had the chance to experience exciting adventures – some visited Chessington World of Adventures, others bounced at Air Hop, and some explored Bocketts Farm. Without Challengers, these experiences wouldn’t have been possible.
Why we need your help
These experiences are only possible because of the specialist support Challengers provides to make sure every child is safe, included, and able to fully take part. Last summer we provided 1,500 places over the school holidays to support children and young people across Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. But these days are only possible with the help of our brilliant supporters.
Nearly half of the cost of our services this year must be met by voluntary contributions. A donation today could help provide:
- £32 – Covers an hour of inclusive playtime for disabled children.
- £108 – Funds a full day of engaging craft or baking activities for young people on our scheme.
- £300 – Covers the cost of running an adapted minibus for a day’s adventure, including fuel, maintenance, and other expenses.
- Over £1,000 – Supports a free Family Fun Day, allowing families to enjoy our centres together at no cost.

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. With your support, we can make this a summer that truly changes lives.
Thank you for supporting Challengers. We simply cannot do this without you!
