35 hours per week. This role is based on four weekdays (Monday–Friday, flexible) plus every Saturday, as this is one of our core service delivery days. During school holidays and half terms, weekday working may vary to meet service needs

ABOUT US– Challengers is a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of disabled children and young people through the power of play. We provide inclusive, fun, and safe spaces across the South East where children aged 4–18 can make friends, enjoy new experiences, and develop vital life skills. Our unique non-exclusion policy ensures that every child, regardless of the complexity of their needs, is welcomed and supported.  Every year, our teams support hundreds of disabled children and young people, creating opportunities for them to build confidence, develop friendships and have fun in a place where they truly belong.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the day-to-day running of our services, creating safe, inclusive and engaging environments for disabled children and young people.
  • Coach, motivate and develop Play & Youth Leaders to deliver outstanding experiences.
  • Work directly alongside your team, supporting children and young people.
  • Build positive relationships with families, schools and partner organisations.
  • Plan engaging activities while coordinating staffing, rotas and resources.
  • Champion safeguarding, health and safety, ensuring high-quality practice.
  • Manage budgets, resources and continuous improvements to help our services thrive. Being a positive ambassador for Challengers and helping us create a world where every child can play.

We’re looking for someone who;

  • Loves working with children and young people and believes in inclusion.
  • Has experience leading or supervising a team.
  • Can inspire others while also rolling up their sleeves and getting involved.
  • Is organised, confident and able to manage a busy, varied workload.
  • Build positive relationships with families, colleagues and professionals.
  • Is a proactive problem-solver who enjoys making things happen.
  • Shares our values and wants to make a lasting difference
  • Experience working with disabled children and young people is highly desirable, along with an understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and person-centred practice.

Essential – Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Challengers services.

Desirable – Ability to drive a Challengers minibus (training provided).
