We weren’t quite sure how Storm Darragh would affect Guildford Santa Fun Run on Sunday 8th December… However, 250+ runners and our fantastic team, volunteers, and amazing sponsor Kelly’s braved the biting cold and 40mph winds!
As with previous years, the run consisted of either a 2.5k route or a 5k route, and this year we brought back the Cani-cross!
Despite the freezing temperatures, spirits were high and there were some gorgeous costumes from families, friends, neighbours, and our furry four legged friends.
Due to the weather, we were not able to have our usual HQ marquee (“elf” & safety first!) but we were lucky enough to have a lovely orange presence from our Challengers volunteers and a couple of stalls with teddy and bottle tombola’s in the back of a Kelly’s van!
A large amount of proceeds from the event were doubled by The Big Give which meant most entries and donations made on the Kelly’s Storage Charity Events website before the event or on the day were matched, resulting in a total contribution of an incredible £8,830.
From everyone at Challengers, a resounding thank you goes out to all who attended—whether as runners, supporters, or volunteers – THANK YOU for being out in the cold supporting Challengers!
We can’t thank Kelly’s enough for powering this event again for us; for their continued generosity and commitment, and for being long-time supporters of Challengers.
