Challengers Wing Walking Day 2026!

Sunday 5th July 2026

We are looking for 8 brilliant wing walkers to take on this epic challenge in aid of Challengers! Could this be you? An opportunity of a lifetime to take to the skies and make your dreams of flying come true, all while taking in the beautiful Kent countryside!

Key Details:  

When? Sunday 5th July, please reserve the whole day. Wing walking will only take place when the weather conditions are suitable but will be rearranged for another day if necessary.  

Where? Headcorn Aerodrome, Ashford, Kent, TN27 9HX

Who? You will be wing walking with The Wing Walking Company – the largest wing walk experience company in the UK. All the instructors and pilots are very experienced and knowledgeable.

What? You will be strapped into a harness and rig on the top of a Boeing Stearman (built in 1942 initially used in Pilot Training during WW2) – flying at speeds between 80-100mph and at heights of 100-700ft!

How to get involved?

There is a significant cost to wing walking for the charity so in order to cover these costs we ask every wing walker, to pay a £75 registration fee and fundraise a minimum of £700 for Challengers. We will support you every step of the way with your fundraising, by sending you tips and providing resources. All your fundraising transforms the lives of local disabled young people at Challengers!

Terms and Conditions: 

Please read the below carefully to self-assess whether you can join our wing walking team. If you have any questions please shout!

  • You must be aged between 18-80 years of age.
  • Maximum weight is 89kg or 14st. Maximum height is 6ft 2inches or 189cm. You will be weighed and measured on the day due to rules set by the Civil Aviation Authority.
  • You will be required to sign a declaration of fitness at the briefing.

We can also cater for people with a range of disabilities. This is done on a case by case basis after consultation with the wing walking company, please do get in touch if this is of interest.
