Challengers Motoring Event – Saturday 19th September 2020

Classic car drive image

We welcome all vintage, classic and specialist cars to join us at the Challengers Motoring Event on Saturday 19th September 2020 to drive a bespoke route through the beautiful Surrey countryside.

This is a fabulous opportunity to bring your cherished motor for a thrilling mystery drive and meet other car enthusiasts. At the end of the driving route, everyone will gather at an exclusive private motor museum which houses some of the world’s most iconic cars.

The stunning collection has over 50 vehicles and endless motoring memorabilia, including a Lagonda V12 Le Mans (which is one of only two that competed at the 1939 Le Mans 24 Hours), and a Mercedes 300 SL which was featured in Classic Motor & Sports Car magazine. The end venue promises to be an enjoyable afternoon of soaking up the amazing motoring history and culture.

This year we are excited to announce that we are starting the drive at Denbies Vineyard and Estate – we are really grateful for their support in offering us this amazing venue!

We have completed a thorough risk assessment for this event specific to COVID-19 and will be adhering to strict social distancing guidelines at all times. For this event we have a few requests so that everyone can have a safe and enjoyable day.

  • Government guidance currently advises that you should try not to share a vehicle with those outside your household or support bubble.
  • We request that guests wear a mask when inside the motor museum. When outdoors please respect a 1m+ distance between yourself and others.
  • We will provide hand sanitiser stations and ask that you please refrain from touching any of the cars or memorabilia in the museum.

Unfortunately we will not be able to provide food and drink as we have done at previous events, so please do bring your own picnic or lunch to enjoy. We have reflected this in the ticket price, so if you bought a ticket earlier on in the year and wish to receive a partial refund please get in touch. We will also be unable to offer a ‘half way’ point on the drive as we are limiting the amount of contact we have with other venues. There will be some suggested stops if you need to use facilities.

For any queries, please contact the Fundraising Team at: Fundraising@disability-challengers.org

We have two options for this fantastic event:

Option one:

Navigate our bespoke route through the gorgeous Surrey countryside using our printed guide, with refreshment stops identified. You are then invited to an exclusive viewing of a very special, private motor museum. All for just £55 per car, including driver & a passenger. Please note you will need to complete the online registration form linked below.

Option two:

If you don’t have a car to join us on the drive, don’t worry – we are offering motor enthusiasts to join us at the private museum for a chance to delve into the collection for just £20 per person.

While at the museum, there will be the opportunity to browse the collection and hear from the proud owner of the museum, who races at Le Mans himself! Many of these cars are still raced at major International Historic races such as Goodwood and Le Mans.
