We’re delighted to share that Challengers’ 555 Service has been selected as a finalist in the 2024 Children & Young People Now Awards.
Our 555 Service provides urgent support urgent support to families of disabled young people aged 8 – 19 who are currently out of education. We offer a fun, safe space at Challengers during the day where our highly trained staff help young people build their confidence, and prepare them for a successful return to school.
Our dedicated 555 staff work alongside parents, education providers and social workers to provide a bespoke support plan for each young person, and develop strategies to enable future facilities to appropriately support them.
We recently shared the story of one young person, Michelle, who attended our 555 Service while out of education for two years as no suitable school placement could be found due to Michelle’s complex needs. Watch the video to learn more about the positive impact Challengers has had on Michelle and her family.
Challengers’ Head of Service, Paul Wilson, shared:

We have a brilliant team of staff who work tirelessly to help young people and families in crisis, supporting them to maintain a vital routine and prepare them for a positive return to education.”
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday 28th November. Until then we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed!
