Challengers embarked on a mission this holiday season to raise £34,000 through the Big Give Christmas Challenge, a week-long national fundraising campaign. Thanks to our generous match funders, which included The Bernard Sunley Foundation, we had a match funding pot available worth £17,000 which would be used to match donations given during the Big Give Challenge week (28 Nov – 5 Dec). We were absolutely bowled over to see our campaign reaching – and then exceeding – this target within only 3 days of the launch. Our final campaign total is an astonishing £36,585. This is testament to the compassion and generosity of our supporters, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. Whether you contributed a little or a lot, your generosity will have a significant impact on the lives of the families who we are here to help.
The funds raised through the Big Give Christmas Challenge will play a vital role in supporting disabled children and young people next year. To illustrate how much this could do, the amount raised is the same as the cost of bringing activities to our schemes such as mobile petting zoos, drumming workshops, and providing all the supplies such as arts and crafts resources for one whole year!
We would really like to thank Anna and her mum, Peta, who shared their story with us to help convey how important Challengers is to them. Their experience reflects that of many families who come to Challengers, and we are so grateful to everyone who contributed to our appeal so that we can be there for families who need us. If you missed Anna and Peta’s film, you can find it here:
As we celebrate this achievement, we recognise that together, we can bring joy to the lives of disabled children and their families. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey with us!
