Trustee Vacancies



  • Chair of the Board of Trustees

    Chair of the Board of Trustees | Voluntary Position

    Challengers wish to appoint a Chair to lead a dedicated Board of Trustees for a much loved local children’s charity.

    Challengers is a charity that for over 40 years has been dedicated to challenging the barriers to play for local disabled children and young people. We offer a range of play and youth schemes across the South East with headquarters in Guildford and Farnham.

    We are looking for a new Chair to take over from David Clinton who has led the trustees over 2 terms of 3 years. This is an exciting and stimulating place with high standards and a passion for helping disabled young people. Both the Board and Management Team work together to make sure that this is a great place to work!

  • Farnham Youthscheme Minibus Driver

    We are looking for after school club cover for 2pm-4:30pm during term time week days with the possibility of extra work at weekends and during the holidays. They would ideally hold a D1 license so they could drive all of our buses. This is a paid or voluntary position.

  • Volunteer Activity Co-Ordinator

    Come to Challengers and help us run an activity for us 2/3 times a year – this could be anything from football to art to drumming workshops!

HQ volunteering



  • Board Secretary Volunteer

    BOARD SECRETARY ROLE | Guildford HQ | (One or two evenings a month and 4 hours a week of admin which can be done flexibly)

    Would you like an interesting role supporting a board of trustees who govern our Charity? Working directly with our Chief Executive you will help with taking minutes, writing them up, circulating notes and organising meetings.   • We run lots of events throughout the year to raise funds for Challengers

    Our volunteers are essential to ensuring that they are a success!

    There are plenty of ways you can help us out, such as:

    – Helping to run stalls
    – Marshalling
    – Helping out with serving refreshments
    – Cheering on our Marathon and RideLondon teams
    – Assisting with collections

    London Marathon | Mile 21 near Limehouse Station | Sunday 28th April

    The London Marathon is an inspiring day to join #TeamOrange at our loud and proud cheer point at Mile 21. It is a great day out to cheer on our fellow runners, as well as witness the huge range of inspiring costumes, celebrities and maybe even make an appearance on TV. If you love cheering and feeling inspired then this is the event for you!

    Challengers Collection | Tesco Superstore, Guildford | Wednesday 8th May

    We are looking for volunteers to help collect one-off donations at the Tesco Superstore in Guildford. Volunteer slots are 2 hours long and this will include standing with a collection bucket and being a wonderful representative of Challengers.

    Kelly’s Cycle Challenge | Alice Holt, Farnham | Sunday 19th May

    We have a variety of roles available for this fab family cycling event, including running one of our feed stations, marshalling along the beautiful route and manning the Challengers stall at Event HQ.

    Guildford Abseil Challenge | Guildford Cathedral | Saturday 8th June

    This exciting event is a first for Challengers, and we need volunteers to ensure that all of our intrepid abseilers have a smooth journey from the moment they arrive! We are looking for an army of orange helpers to assist with various tasks including registration, escorting participants up the tower and cheering them back down!

    Prudential RideLondon | Leatherhead | Sunday 4th August

    Can you spare an hour to cheer our team of cyclists through their 100 mile challenge? We need a team of orange cheerleaders to clap, shout and cheer at mile 75 in Leatherhead to give the cyclists a superboost to the finish.

    Kelly’s Cross Country Challenge | Loseley Park, Guildford | Sunday 20th October

    If you like the great outdoors and can point people in the right direction, you might just be the perfect marshall for Kelly’s Run! Stationed in the beautiful grounds of Loseley House you will play an important role in ensuring all of our fantastic runners complete their race safely.
