Remember A Charity Week 2020

This week (7th-13th September 2020) is ‘Remember a Charity Week’. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness of the incredible support you can offer by leaving a gift to a charity in your Will.

At Challengers, our mission is to break down barriers in society that disabled young people face each day. We believe in a future where all children and young people can play freely together, like all children should – regardless of their impairments. For the children and families that are turned away from play settings because of their needs, it’s vital that we continue to offer them a place to play.

Leaving Challengers a gift of any size in your Will, or in memory of a family member or friend, will help us continue to support disabled children, young people, and their families for many years to come.

We work with The Goodwill Partnership, who will help you write your Will at a time suited to you. Your Will is then checked and provided directly to you by one of The Goodwill Partnership’s approved solicitors. The initial appointment is free and you only pay for the Will when you are you happy and ready to proceed. Alternatively, you may wish to speak to your family solicitor or a solicitor of your choosing.

James Linden-Travers and his family regularly donate in memory of George:
“George was a very happy chappy without a care in the world. He loved Challengers and despite his disabilities always recognised when he was being dropped off at a Challengers’ setting and would chuckle with excitement. Sadly he collapsed and passed away 7 years ago and as a family we miss him dearly.

“It gives us great comfort to raise funds for an organisation that gave him so much pleasure and vital support to our family. Challengers’ continued great work allows his memory to live on and help others who need it most.”

On average it costs £152 for a child to be at Challengers for the day, while their family gets some much-needed respite. With many children attending an average of 20 days a year, a legacy of £5,000 or more would make an incredible difference.
