Hair-raising fundraisers for Challengers!

We are at week nine of lockdown, and many of us are missing our hairdressers and barbers!

Over the past few weeks we have had some amazing supporters taking on some hair-raising challenges for us! Including shaving their heads, growing and shaving off beards and now Graham Mills, after a dare on facebook, is dying his hair orange to #SaveOrangeSchemes!

Graham, the owner of Technics Group Surveyors, has supported Challengers for a long time. Here’s what he had to say about his challenge:

“As a result of the Covid virus charities have suffered considerably, particularly due to the cancellation of more or less all fundraising events. Challengers have been hit hard which will have a major effect on the children, young adults and their families that rely on the exceptional services that they provide. So as I can’t attend any of the fundraising events for them then at least this is something that I can do. What better way to show support than to actually go orange!”

Graham has already raised £500 for Challengers and is pushing on as far as he can. £500 which could fund 3 days of play at Challengers when we reopen our services… if you would like to support Graham, please visit his fundraising page!

Ivy and Anna chose another way to get rid of those pesky roots and overgrown cuts by shaving all of their hair off! They each raised over £1000 and we think they look fabulous!

If you would like to join Graham in dying your hair orange for Challengers, or have any other amazing ideas to support us we would love to hear from you, please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing fundraising@disability-challengers.org
