Fundraiser Tales: Alton Playworkers raise money for new toys and equipment

Some wonderful staff members at Alton Play completed an 11km walk to raise money for new toys and equipment for the scheme. In this Fundraiser Tale, they explain just how much the money means to them!

On August 18th, staff members Alex, Hollie, Kiera, George, Jamie, Vicky and Katie from Alton Play completed a 11k walk through the countryside and hills surrounding Alton to raise money for our scheme.

At Alton Play, we love what we do, and are all so proud to work for Challengers. Our scheme provides inclusive play for disabled and non-disabled children between the ages of 4 – 12 on weekends and during school holidays. Money that we raise will allow us to get some new toys and equipment for the children to use, such as bikes, Lego, sensory toys, arts & crafts supplies, and baking ingredients.

This will help us to keep our scheme updated and fresh, allow the children to enjoy lots of exciting new games and activities, and most importantly have fun!

Ellen, the Leader at Alton Play said: “Nothing makes me prouder being a leader of a play scheme, than having a team who are amazing enough to go the lengths they have to raise money to improve our amazing scheme!

“Being the leader of Alton play, is a role I love and now I’ve got a team who make me beyond proud to be in the role I am! Go team AP!”

So far the team have raised £480! Help them exceed their target by donating on their fundraising page
