Sunday 17th July 2022 – Wood Street Village, Guildford

The Wood Street Jazz Festival was a huge success in 2022!
Thank you so much to everyone who attended the 8th annual Wood Street Jazz Festival in aid of Challengers on Sunday 17th July 2022!

We had an extremely successful event, organised in partnership with Guildford Jazz and the Wood Street Village committee. Everyone enjoyed some incredible music from Somethin’ Else Big Band, Deppa/Hirst Quintet and Nigel Price Sextet. This year, we had a ‘Support Stage’ which included music and vocals from the very talented Emily Windham, Phil Chevassut Trio and Rosanna Stevens.
Thank you to all the acts for putting on such an incredible show, we couldn’t have done it without you!
Through the event, over £15,000 has been raised! Challengers received 100% of the money raised, allowing us to continue our work breaking down barriers to play for children in the local community. This will make a huge impact on the local disabled children and young people we support as well as their families.
Thank you to everyone that made this thrilling day possible, namely Marianne from Guildford Jazz, David Hypher from Wood Street Village, and our sponsors Surrey County Council, Worplesdon Parish Council, Rydes Hill School, Burns & Webber and Ultimate Stream. An additional thank you to the Shahin Restaurant and Firebird Brewery for providing delicious food and drink where all profits were donated to Challengers.
Below are a few favourite images from the day, showcasing everyone coming together enjoying a day full of music and sunshine! If you would like to see more images from the day then head over to Challengers Facebook page here.
