Challengers wins 3rd Sector Technology Award

Challengers and IT support provider Westbrook have won the Technology Award at this year’s Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards for their innovative use of technology to enhance the lives of local families.

The awards celebrate the outstanding work and achievements of individuals and services in the not-for-profit care and support sector. Winners were announced at an awards ceremony held in London on 6th December, hosted by Dame Esther Rantzen and her daughter Rebecca Wilcox.

Our fully inclusive play and leisure services are heavily oversubscribed, so last year we worked with Westbrook to introduce a new booking system for the 1000+ families who use Challengers services.

Westbrook delivered a new and streamlined booking system for Challengers which offers families the opportunity to book independently at a time and place that suits them.

Challengers Head of Finance and Operations, Amanda Matthews said: “The feedback we have had from parents is fantastic and the new system allows us to be much more efficient in the way we operate, so we’re thrilled that the success of this project has been recognised externally by the Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards.“

CEO of Westbrook, Ambrose McGinn said: “I am absolutely delighted to have our work with Challengers recognised with this prestigious award. The joint team worked tirelessly under significant time and budget constraints to build scalable and futureproof solutions. It was a fantastic example of teamwork across the project which results in this rewarding accolade. “
