Challengers receiving the Mayor's Award at the 2016 WSA Property Awards

On Thursday 24th November Challengers were absolutely bowled over in more than one way. Not only were they the nominated charity for the prestigious WSA Property Awards but they also went home with an award – The Mayor’s Award to be precise. To be the nominated charity for such a big event is not something Challengers takes for granted.

The property world were out in force to celebrate their achievements throughout the year, whilst having a great evening and supporting Challengers with table games and bids on a silent auction. The celebrity guest this year was Alex Crow, mind reader who dazzled the guests with a superb show with members of the audience getting to take part and experience it first-hand.

Laura Sercombe, CEO said: “WOW! What an amazing night – when they read out Challengers name as the winner I just couldn’t believe it – it is an absolute honour! We adore working with the team at The Promotional Edge, they always deliver a high quality and seamless evening. A huge thank you to the WSA for inviting us to be their chosen charity for another year, the money raised at this event makes a huge difference to the children, young people and families that rely on Challengers.”

Challengers are very proud of this award and would like to share the wording from the evening to share with everyone that supports them and makes the charity what it is. Challengers are proud of supporting and being part of a local community and can’t thank people enough for everything they do, from the people that fundraise, volunteer, vote and the families that choose to leave their children with us to play – thank you.

The Mayor’s Award

Nominations were invited for the Mayor’s Award and throughout the campaign, which ran from June to November, a number of companies and individuals received nominations.

The business that attracted the most nominations has successfully devised a new and innovative way of engaging with the business community to project its brand and forge a great number of positive partnerships. This business has demonstrated that it is entirely possible to secure funding for projects large and small, win friends and engage with people throughout the community. Through the creative harnessing of social media, imaginative fundraising events and their unique people skills, the brand and business is now highly recognisable and considered a very worthy winner of this award

The recipient company for the Mayor’s Award for 2016 is – Challengers.
