Information about the scheme

Please note that this scheme is currently running from the Urban Saints building that is adjacent to the Guildford Playcentre. This is due to the fire that damaged our Guildford Playcentre on the 10th September. Please see ours news release for further details.

The 2018 Spring Term at Guildford Pre-School will begin on Thursday 4th January.

Children age 2 – 5 years will be able to attend the scheme. Free Early Education for Two years olds (FEET) is available for eligible 2 year olds, and parents of children aged 3 years and above will be able to use their FEE funding.

From September 2017 the government will be increasing the free hours from 15 to 30 a week for children of working families who meet the eligibility criteria. This is for children aged three and four years old. Please see the Surrey County Council website for further information.

What happens at Guildford Pre-school?

Our activities in Guildford include puzzles, painting and gluing, sand and water play, soft play, sensory and outdoor fun, cooking and much, much, more – all developed in line with the national Early Years Foundation Stage. We also have a well-equipped sensory suite, soft play, and extensive secure outside play area and play structures.

In addition to our continuous provision, we plan enhanced activities on a weekly basis considering children’s individual needs and focusing on their next step learning and development goals.

Staff

Our staff work very hard to ensure that the children who attend our Guildford Pre-school can learn and have lots of fun in a stimulating environment.

Further information about funding

Free Early Education for 2 year olds (FEET) is an offer of up to 15 hours of free early education and childcare a week. To be eligible to apply for FEET your family must meet either the automatically funded, financial or other criteria. If your child does not meet any of these they may still be eligible for funding if a professional involved with your family considers them to have a significant need.

In England all 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to up to 15 hours of free early education a week for up to 38 weeks a year. This is to give children the opportunity to take part in planned learning activities, and help prepare them for school through the early learning goals set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage. There is more information on the Surrey County Council website.
