Play and Youth Scheme volunteering



  • Play or Youth Scheme Volunteer

    Become part of a dynamic and supportive team and gain a rewarding insight into supporting disabled children and young people.

    We are currently recruiting for Play and Youth Volunteers across our schemes to work with us. Apply online to be invited to one of our upcoming recruitment events:

    22nd January: Elmbridge

  • Fun Swim Volunteer

    We have a great opportunity for a volunteer fundraising collector at the Guildford Spectrum. Could you spare and hour once a month on a Saturday to help collect donations from parents at our Fun Swim sessions between from 5.45pm to 6.45pm?

  • Swim Club Volunteer

    Swim Club runs every Saturday evening during term time in Guildford. Find out more

  • Play or Youth Scheme Driver

    Help us with driving a minibus on scheme trips out and After School Club bus runs from schools to scheme. Find out more

  • Volunteer Activity Co-Ordinator

    Come to Challengers and help us run an activity for us 2/3 times a year – this could be anything from football to art to drumming workshops!

  • Volunteer Administrator

    Come to our offices and get involved with spreadsheets, finance, filing and data entry.

  • Volunteer Board Secretary

    Attend our board meetings twice a month and then once a week (at a time that suits you) to write up notes and prepare the trustee calendar. This would help our Chief Executive and Board members immensely. Find out more

    Whether you have skills in Finance, Marketing, Web Design, Recruitment, Fundraising or Events we would love to hear from you and discuss how you could help us!

Event volunteering



  • We run lots of events throughout the year to raise funds for Challengers

    Our volunteers are essential to ensuring that they are a success!

    There are plenty of ways you can help us out, such as:

    – Helping to run stalls
    – Marshalling
    – Helping out with serving refreshments
    – Cheering on our Marathon and RideLondon teams
    – Assisting with collections

    Farnham Christmas Street Collection | Lion and Lamb Yard | Saturday 9th December

    What better way to get in the Christmas spirit than giving away yummy mince pies while helping a good cause in the very festive Lion and Lamb Yard.

    What you will be up to:

    – Holding buckets for Christmas shoppers to drop their change into
    – Handing out mince pies and very orange Challengers balloons to cheer passers by
    – Spreading the Challengers Christmas joy
    – We are also looking for anyone with a shred of musical talent who is willing to come down and busk some Christmas tunes

    Guildford Christmas Street Collection | Guildford Friary Centre | Saturday 23rd December

    It’s Christmas Eve Eve, the mince pies are back and we’re catching those last minute Christmas shoppers at the Guildford Friary Centre with all the Christmas cheer we’ve got.

    What you will be up to:

    – Holding buckets for Christmas shoppers to drop their change into
