Forest Lodge Garden Centre raise over £2,000 for Challengers

Each year Forest Lodge Garden Centre in Farnham choose a local charity to support with the proceeds raised from their much loved animated Christmas window display. This year Forest Lodge raised an incredible £2,384.82!

The staff from Forest Lodge and Challengers met at the Garden Centre on Thursday 19th January for a cheque presentation. This money was raised by Forest Lodge customers, donating their loose change into the window display, and the Garden centre was generous enough to offer Challengers £1 of every Christmas tree sale they made. The display was a beautiful scene full of bright lights and colours with a snow globe at the centre, a giant fluffy polar bear and a moving train set that travels around the display.

Challengers are a charity who provide play and leisure schemes for disabled children and young people in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. They have four schemes in Farnham; a Pre-School, Playscheme, Youthscheme and Young Adult Scheme and those schemes currently support 155 children and young people in Farnham alone.

Susie Jewell, Corporate Fundraising Manager for Challengers, said: “Challengers are hugely grateful to be receiving such a fantastic figure from Forest Lodge. Thank you to everyone at Forest Lodge and to everyone who donated, this money is going to make such a difference to the families that Challengers support.”
